VIKINGS 1 - DIVISION 2 Champions 08/09 Season
What is Korfball?
Korfball is a mixed gender team ball game, similar to mixed netball. It is played in 57 countries.
Each team comprises of 8 players (4 male, 4 female). The pitch is divided into two half's with a yellow basket (korf) in each division.
The team is divided equally in the two sections (2 male and 2 female in each section) In one half the players are attackers and the other, defenders. After every two goals have been scored players change roles.
Boys mark boys and girls mark girls. All attackers can shoot. You are not allowed to run/dribble with the ball. If you are being defended (opponent with arm up close enough to touch you) then you cannot shoot.
Korfball is a non contact sport. The aim of the game is to score more goals than your opposition (and have lots of fun).
